What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an ancient technique that promotes your body’s natural healing process through the placement of thin, sterile, single use needles into precise acupuncture points.

Your specific signs and symptoms determine which points we use to treat your concerns. Acupuncture is a safe and effective treatment for many conditions including but not limited to:

  • Low back pain

  • Neck pain

  • Reproductive & menstrual support

  • Digestive concerns and many more

Clinical research continues to prove its validity and fuel its growth and acceptance. Acupuncture has none of the toxic side effects associated with pharmaceutical medications and can provide relief from so many issues.

What can I expect from my visit?

Your first visit will last between 60 and 75 minutes.  Please eat a light meal prior to your appointment.

Subsequent visits are about an hour.

Your provider will spend a large part of your first visit asking many questions about your health.  Some may seem unrelated to the issue you want to address, however we ask to get a complete picture..

We are holistic providers and treat the whole body – not just the affected part.

Once the intake is complete, we will insert very fine needles (about the size of a cat’s whisker) into specific acupoints on the body.  All needles are sterile and single use only.  You may feel a warm, tingling or dull achy sensation.

Most patients report increased feeling of relaxation and wellbeing after the first visit.  You may be surprised at how relaxing acupuncture treatments can be.

Additionally, if indicated, your practitioner will incorporate cupping, gua sha, electro-stimulation and/or Chinese Herbal Medicine into your treatment plan.
